Legal Question in Criminal Law in Massachusetts
Assault
My daughter was assaulted at a roller skating rink, while her 9 year old daughter and many other kids were present. There were 5 witnesses that corroborated her story yet the police did not arrest the assailant. We believe he has a connection to the police department. What can we do to make sure this is not swept under the carpet?

Re: Assault
You can go directly to the district court to file charges. You can also try to contact the local newspaper and see if there is any pressure that they may exert. It wouldn't hurt to bring one or more of the witnesss with you to the court when you go to file the charges. Go as soon as possible. The more urgency that you give it, the more likely they will give it urgency as well.
Re: Assault
file an application for a criminal complaint in district court.
