Legal Question in Criminal Law in Massachusetts

buoncing checks

i gave to my friend 25 checks for a total of 65,000.00 for payroll, he owns a cash place, but i never got the payment to honor those checks, he knows i never got paid for that job and now he wants his money and i need more time like 2 months, can i be arrested for this situation, or i have to receive a summons from the court first, because a constable(his friend) told me he will arrest me any time he wants, is this true or not, thanks

Re: buoncing checks

You need an attorney. Writing a check without sufficient funds to cover the check is a crime. From what you stated in your question, it appears you wrote the checks knowing that there was not money to cover them. NOW... if there was an ongoing busineess relationship with this "cash place" whereby they would advance the funds and send you a bill, then you may have a good defense.
