Legal Question in Criminal Law in Massachusetts
my car was involved in a felony. ( stealing something from a store at a mall worth more than $250) and I do not know who took the car because I was in another country at this time. What can they do to me if I just don't know? I have 5 kids that were here they have friends they will not tell me who took the car...I have proof I was not here .. I have a clean record but I am being told that this is a felony and face jail, fines.. can you give help me with telling me what you think can happen.. thank you

Have you been questioned? Use of a motor vehicle in the commission of a felony requires the police to prove that had knowledge that it would be used in the commission of a felony. If you are out of the country and have absolute proof to that effect then you are not responsible.
Retain an attorney and confide only in that attorney. Good Luck!
Who is telling you that this is a felony? The police? Or is it someone with nothing to do with this? From what you've said, I don't know why the police would try to go after you and drag you into this case. If you have concerns, consult directly with a criminal defense attorney.
