Legal Question in Criminal Law in Massachusetts

I was caught using a Fake ID to try and buy alcohol in Massachusetts. My Fake ID was taken and my information was taken down. I was asked what i was being charged with and where the charges were being placed and the officer told me that he didn't know, but i would receive a letter in the mail in a few weeks. I was not given any kind of ticket or additional information. I was wondering what possible charges i could be given and whether or not i should hire a lawyer for this particular situation.

You will receive a summons in the mail with the charges listed-most likely it will be for false ID and alcohol related charges.
