Legal Question in Criminal Law in Massachusetts
I committed petty theft when I was a child in the State of Hawaii almost 20 to 30 years ago. I recall being arrested and fingerprinted, but I don't recall being charged with a crime that required a court appearance. I checked the State of Hawaii adult public records and could not find any records for myself (since the theft was committed when I was juvenile).
I am applying for a temporary finance position involving the State of California and they have asked for fingerprints and will run a background check with the FBI and CA Dept of Justice. Will this petty theft appear on the background check?

Does this incident appear on your CORI? If it does, I can't imagine they would not find it. If is not on your CORI, however, I would guess that they would not find it.
