Legal Question in Criminal Law in Massachusetts

conspiracy charge

IN Massachusettes can a person be charged with

''conspiracy to commit armed robbery'' without anyone else being charged with conspiracy or anyone being charged with armed robbery? The only charge is ''conspiracy to commit armed robbery''

One was charged with assult and battery and AB with a dangerous weapon but acquitted on both. The charge of conspiracy was dismissed. So you have one defendant left with that stated charge.

Re: conspiracy charge

It is not necessarily true that at least 2 people have to be charged with conspiracy. However, "conspiracy" necessarily requires that there be at least 2 conspirators, whether all of those individuals are charged or not. If I understand your situation correctly, 2 individuals were in fact charged with conspiracy, but the charges were eventually dismissed as to one of these individuals.
