Legal Question in Criminal Law in Massachusetts

court date gone wrong

we arrived at the long awaited court trial that would put a potentially dangerous person behind bars...we arrived and waited accidently in the wrong floor and they did trial without us and let him go as non guilty..we are trying to appeal,,but we waited 3 yrs already for trial..what should we do?

It is unfortunate.

You have not said what kind of case it was and the charge(s).

You cannot appeal. If they did a criminal trial and the person got a not guilty, you are out of luck.

If this was criminal, you could still consider filing a civil action.
