Legal Question in Criminal Law in Massachusetts

criminal court summons

My son just received a summons at my home in Mass. He has to respond to a lawyer and sent a copy to the clerk of courts in my town. It is for 1400.00. He signed up for flying lessons with King Avaition at local airport at age 15 in 2003. We spent 1000`s of dollars that we paid. In 1-month in 6/05. We found out he was not being taught properly by his last instructer, real safty problems. . We told the flight school. They could care less. Very bad experience. We refused to pay the for that month 1400.00 They offered no help. We found another flight school that was great. He was 15 and I signed a consent for because he was under 18. Can they sue him. Should they be suing me instead? He is in his third year of college in Florida now. He actualy just received his commerial flying licence this summer. I do not want this against him. I also know someone else now that had same problem with the same flight school. I want this against me, not him when he was a minor. Thank You.

If he is a minor when he signed the agreement, and was a minor when he took the lessons, there could be a problem of the enforceability of the contract. However, if you authorized it, then the minority issue disappears. Your son can file a counterclaim regarding the quality of the services.
