Legal Question in Criminal Law in Massachusetts

criminal law? or civil rights?

Someone searched thru my purse at work. The person did not take anything but was seen by a co-worker doing this. Is there any thing I can do about this?

You may be able to bring forward an application for a criminal complaint under the theory of attempted larceny. On the civil side, you may have a cause of action under the Massachusetts invasion of privacy law, but damages will be difficult to prove.
