Re: criminal record

In Massachusetts a Drunk Driving charge will remain on your record forever. That is why it is so important to do everything that you can to challenge the offense. Even if you get a Continued Without a Finding (CWOF), where the charges may be dismissed after a period of time, typically 1 year, it still counts as a 1st offense. So, if it happens again, you are now looking at mandatory locked down time. Do not plead out without the advice and counsel of an attorney who specializes in OUI/DWI/DUI offenses. Let your attorney explore all options before you make any decision. Whatever your decision, it will effect you for life. Indefinitely, which is why you should explore all possibilities to avoid the charge being placed on your record and never plead to a charge without advice of an attorney.
