Legal Question in Criminal Law in Massachusetts

Dating a divorced man who is denied access to his children

My divorced sister met a seemingly wonderful man who has lost all visitation rights to his 14 year old twins over 10 years ago in a court battle. HE has been divorced since they were 2 and up until then had them on weekends. He said that this happened because his girlfriend at the time had a 10 year old son who molested his twin son. He broke up with the girlfriend the day the incident happened. Is it reasonable to believe a judge would have denied the father all access to the son and granted the ex-wife full custody and a restraining order against him for this incident? He was finally allowed visits with a guardian. Should my sister be suspicious of his involvement in the molestation? This seems like a red flag to me, but she claims he was railroaded by a bitter ex-wife. Your advice is appreciated. My sister has three children 14, 17 and 19. How can she know for sure?
