Legal Question in Criminal Law in Massachusetts
Destruction of Private property
My exboyfriend took my phone and read through the messages where he found some that made him angry. He then walked up to me and smashed my phone on the concrete where it was destroyed. I now have no phone and no means of contacting anyone and cant afford at the moment to replace my phone. Are there any charges I can press against him?

Re: Destruction of Private property
You could seek a criminal complaint for malicious destruction of personal property from the clerk of your local District Court, or a civil small claims action from the same. Good luck!
