Legal Question in Criminal Law in Massachusetts
Do District attorneys notify your attorney if they plan to indict you?
If a charge can be tried in district or superior court does the DA's office inform your attorney before they present it?

Not necessarily. What they may say is that they are thinking about it, or they are sending an indictment memo to their main office, and are waiting for an answer. But as some point they must let you know, because if they plan to indict, you have a right to a probable cause hearing in the district court.
