Legal Question in Criminal Law in Massachusetts

Domestic.

Ok, My question is .. My boyfriend got arrested the other day for a Domestic Case He was drunk and got really physical with a couple people in his house including me and the police arrested him. Its his 2nd Domestic Case in the last 6 months (he got arrested for a domestic in Oct.08). Now his bail is 2500$. He has a couple other things on his record as well. Not to sure exactly what though. But my main question is What is going to happend to him, Like is he going to get sentenced to do alot of time?? He is also in the National Guard. They said if he didnt get bailed out he would have to wait and stay in jail untill his next court date which is February. (today is January 7 2009) So does that mean he will get out on his next court date or what is going to happend Im going crazy trying to find some answers. Please help me out.

Re: Domestic.

It's impossible to tell you what will happen on his next court date without knowing more about what happened and more about his record. I can tell you, however, that he will remain in jail at least until then if he does not make his bail or have his bail reduced to an amount that he can make.

Re: Domestic.

What will happen is largely dependent on the facts of the case and the lawyer that represents him. He could be sentenced to time served if he is held for 30 days or it could be more, could be less. There is no guarantee that he will be released on his next court date by any means. The court is simply stating that they do not trust him to return to court for his appearances and therefore unless he proves his seriousness by ponying up $2500 to ensure his return to court, that they plan on holding him until his case is resolved. He should hire a good criminal defense attorney that specializes in A&B. You can look at our web site to get more information at www.LawWorcester.com.
