Legal Question in Criminal Law in Massachusetts

Double Jeporday

My husband had taken money from a company a few months ago. He was on probabtion and part of his probation was no new charges. Well he was charged with Larceny over 250. He had a suspended sentence of 18 months which was now imposed by a jugde in one city. His charge was in the city were he had stolen the money and the city where is probation was sentenced him. Well now he is in jail for this crime. The city were he had stolen the money is still trying to sentence him for the same crime. I do not understand how this can be. Could anyone please help me get my husband out of prison with the minimum amount of time having to be served. Thank You.

Re: Double Jeporday

I am confused?

Please explain whether he was charged in two places for the same crime or different charges?
