All depends upon which court, Judge and District Attorney's office. To protect your record and get the best disposition, i would retain a lawyer who is familiar with the Court and Criminal Law. In many cases, a lawyer can get a case like that dismissed for you. Please feel free to contact me further. Martha Kovner

Re: drugs

If you have no criminal record, your chances for a good disposition in the case are strong. I recommend you involve a lawyer, however, as they will help get you the best deal possible, which might not be obtainable by yourself. I can certainly help if you'd like.

If you are worried about your job (if the employer knows or will discover what happened), the employer is probably free to deal with the infraction as they see fit, so long as their action complies with laws of Massachusetts, applicable employee policies and procedures, and/or any employment contract.

Feel free to follow up with me or come in for a free consultation on either or both issues.
