How do I go about getting a charge (I was found not quilty) exponged from my record?

First, you do not get your record "exponged" you get it sealed. To do so, you write to the Department of Probation in Boston and request that they seal your CORI. If they refuse, you may hire an attorney to bring a motion before a judge to order probation to seal the record. There are specific time periods after a felony and a misdemeanor after which the record may be sealed by law. That requires a specific amount of time (10 or 15 years to pass without further legal difficulty after a misdemeanor or felony respectively, for probation to seal it upon request. If you do not satisfy these requirements, you can hire an attorney to make a compelling argument toa judge as to why they should order your record sealed.
