Legal Question in Criminal Law in Massachusetts
Expunging 10-year old misdemeanors
I have an application for school that asks about any prior criminal record, and unlike most of the apps, it doesn't specify a period of time (most say ''in the last seven years''). I have two misdemeanors on my record from 10 years ago; one is DUI and one Possession of Class D substance.
I was wondering if either a) there is a process to have these expunged, or b) they are automatically expunged after a given period of time.

Records do not get expunged without an order of the Court. Your record is part of the CORI system, with its sister organization: FBI
