Legal Question in Criminal Law in Massachusetts

False Identificati

I was recently notified by the registry of motor vehicles in Massachusetts that my licence will be suspended on September 25th due to alleged id/licence fraud. The incident took place in March and involved no police, but the ID had my photo, real name, and social security #...I am hoping there is some way in which I can avoid suspension due to the fact that only the ID was turned in, it was never found on my person. I am looking for any advice on this situation before my hearing, which is at the Registry, not even at a court. Also, I am a MA resident and the incident took place in MA, but the fake ID was Rhode Island. I am not sure how this affects things. Thanks in advance...

Re: False Identificati

You need an attorney with you when you go to the hearing. Without one the chances of any success are slim. Legally the Registry can suspend your license, show them you're sorry and willing to spend a few bucks to keep your license.
