Legal Question in Criminal Law in Massachusetts

A felony charge?

I was wondering if there is a case in court, and the DA is looking to charge a parent with assault with a dangerous weapon, is that a felony?

Re: A felony charge?

If you think there is a case in a specific court, you can check in with the criminal clerk. To speak to the DA depends on which side of the action you are. This needs to be done with more thought.

Yes, assault and battery with a dangerous weapon, is a felony. Unless I misunderstood your question.

Assault with a damngerous weapon is a felony charge. If it remains in District Court--the maximum penalty is 2 1/2 years in the House of Correction. Hope that this helps. Martha Kovner
