Can I be arrested and prosecuted of a crime if I get into a fight with someone?

You definitely can be prosecuted if you get into a fight with someone. If the other person went to the police and filed a complaint against you then the police can do an investigation and you could receive a summons for court for arraignment on the charges or notice of a clerk's hearing to see if the charges should be issued. If either happens, make sure you have an attorney with you. Martha Kovner

Yes, retain an attorney to represent you even if it is a clerk's hearing for a notice to show cause as to why a complaint should not issue against you. Good Luck!
