Legal Question in Criminal Law in Massachusetts

Firearm question.

I have been arrested for getting into a few fights in my younger years. All charges were dismissed.

If I apply for a license to carry, can I be denied because of these arrests, despite the fact that there has never been a conviction?

Re: Firearm question.

It is a possibility if the issuing authority believes your assault charges, though dismissed, demonstrate a volatile nature and poor judgment.

Consider retaining an attorney to review your record with you and discuss whether it would be worthwile considering having your record sealed.
