Legal Question in Criminal Law in Massachusetts
Firing Attorney
When is it too late to fire an attorney? A friend of mine has been state custody for 2 years pending trial. He feels as though his attorney is not doing all that he can in his defense. Nothing has happened regarding his case yet. His court dates get continued all of the time, it's as if there is no progress. Is it too late for him to file his attorney and hire another one?

It depends on what is going on with the case.

Re: Firing Attorney
Your friend could consider interviewing another attorney he might like to hire, and give that attorney all of the relevant information in order to make that determination.
