Forgery of a Child Support Check

A woman that I was a classmate of, stole many State support checks from me, signed them and cashed them to pay her mortgage, can I have her prosecuted? I have more to speak of but space is limited...

Re: Forgery of a Child Support Check

Report it to the police where the theft occurred and/or where she forged the check. Then, if the police are NOT eager to initiate an investigation, go to the district court where the defendant stole the check/forgery occurred and ask to "take out a criminal complaint." Bring whatever evidence you have and explain the problem and show the evidence.

If the clerk magistrate believes a crime may have occurred, the court will take it from there (tho that does not mean it will definately develop into a criminal case, but it might).

I agree with Attorney Tiedemann, although I would think that the police would prosecute the case if you can provide them with enough information to substantiate your story and the perpetrator is still around.
