Legal Question in Criminal Law in Massachusetts
My friend was assaulted and the attacker convicted of aggravted assault 2 counts, yet it has been 9 months and although in prison still has not been given the final sentencing hearing. Is this unusual? How long can it legally take?

It should have taken place already. They probably sentenced the person already and never notified your friend.
