As he has a family and would like to herlp and catch up on bills. we have known of other inmates that has gotten work release and has had worst charges.

The 18 month sentence for unlawful possession of a firearm is a mandatory minimum sentence, meaning no early release is possible until the entire 18 months is served. He may have credit during the time he was held before the formal sentencing if he was unable to post his bail, and that time would be subtracted from the 18 months.
