Legal Question in Criminal Law in Massachusetts

I let a friend stay at my house for a few months. She acquired a credit card using someone else's identity and had it sent to my home. She has since moved out and after she did I received a letter from Chase Bank saying that my household was under investigation for credit card fraud. I have no idea where she is and I have a detective from another state calling me asking me if I know where she is and if he can't find her he may have to charge me with this offense. I did nothing wrong. I have lived at this address all my life and Chase issued a credit card to my address to someone who lives in a different state. I am petrified that this detective if going to press charges against me and I knew absolutely nothing about what she did. Her phone number has been disconnected and I have no idea where this girl is...what to I do?

Retain an attorney. Confide in no one but that attorney about this. Refer anyone who contacts you about it to that attorney and decline to say anything further about it, least of all, on the internet, like this.

Good Luck!
