Larceny in the 4th Degree

My boyfriend is being investigated for 4th degree larceny (took 2000$) from Store in mall, has no prior convictions, is a student in a very hard program of athletic training, registered emt what is he looking at for punishment if charges are brought agianst him?

This sounds like Larceny over $250 charge. Depending on the circumstances, and his ability to repay, he could face at a minimum a dismissal upon payment of the amount plus court costs, a plea wherein there is a probationary period, after which the charge is dismissed.

He should hire an attorney as soon as possible who can get involved in case and try to prevent the charges from even being issued. If the charges are issued--there are many different possibilities for someone with no record but it really depends upon the facts of the case, the "victim"s" feelings about the case, the Court where he is charged and what District Attorney's office it is.
