Legal Question in Criminal Law in Massachusetts

Left the state

My older brother was indicted on 2 felony counts having to do with defrauding the bank he was working for. He has no record that I know of, and has been making all of his required appearences in court. I have recently found out that he has left the state we live in and says he is not returning, even though his case has not been settled. What is going to happen to him?

Re: Left the state

Nice speaking - he screwed himself.

During the next scheduled appearance, a judge is going to issue a bench warrant for his arrest. When he is apprehended, he will be brought before the court. A judge will determine after a hearing if he is to be bailed or held for the duration of the proceeding without bail.

Your brother needs to get in touch with his attorney ASAP. What he is doing is not smart.
