Legal Question in Criminal Law in Massachusetts
malicious destruction??
I have been charges with destruction over 250.00 the police officer gave me a price of 138.00 and I paid it I still have to appear in court, I have been there 4 times no one from the other party has showed up and no one has showed me a receipt for the damages. I appeared in court again today and they are now saying they want another 150.00 and placed me on probation. Do i not have the right to a receipt and the party asking for the money?????

Paying the obligation does not always end the case. Yes, you have a right, assuming this is not court costs. The other party only has to be there for a trial, or for hearings where their presence is a must.
