Legal Question in Criminal Law in Massachusetts
if you take money from a lost wallet, is this stealing/criminal offense? If you return a lost wallet to the owner that had no money in it to begin with and the owner went to the police stating that the money was stolen, doesn't he have to prove somehow there was money originally in his wallet?

It is even more complicated than that. Who says that the wallet was not there, someone took the money, and left the wallet behind.
