Legal Question in Criminal Law in Massachusetts

About a month ago I had to obtain a restraining order through the courts to end the threats and harassment from my ex.

Today, I received many messages stating that he was calling me demeaning names in his Facebook status' and whatnot. One specific order in the Abuse Protection Order states that "you are not to contact the plaintiff in person, in writing by telephone or otherwise, either directly or through someone else."

Not only am I getting all these notifications of his slander, but he also states in the status "you know who you are!!"

Is this a violation of the restraining order? I know that the law is new to social networking sites, but I feel like this is harassment. He is currently on probation for violating a restraining order. This guy seems to think that it is a game and I would like to put an end to it.

if he knows that you are being sent messages from facebook as a result of the postings, then it is probably a violation. If you are a friend of his, then it probably is not a violation. If third parties are sending you messages then it is probably not a violation.
