Legal Question in Criminal Law in Massachusetts

Hello ,my mother has recently pased away. I went to a funeral parlor and did the arrangements. I am an only child with no other family. I agreed to make three payments of 663.00.There has been alot of things that have happened in the time between payments. I made the first without a problem. When I asked the directoe who is also the owner to make smaller payments he said he wanted it in full.I cant pay it in full. He has been coming to my house ,leaving messages on my phone while I'm at work.Telling me he is going to a lawyer, then he says he's going to the police. I am willing to pay him 100 a week but he says he wants it in full. If we go to court I told him I will ask for payments. What more can I do ? I don't have 1400.00 to give him, and he continues to harrass me daily.

Advise him that you can only pay what you can afford at this time. Then advise him to stop calling and take you to court to collect. If he continues to call you may be able to sue him under 93 (consumer protection laws). Also he cant call the police as there is no criminal matter here-its a civil matter period. Feel free to contact the office if you want to discuss 774-745-0562.
