Re: penilties

In Massachusetts, the penalty for assault and battery on a police officer is anywhere from probation to 2 1/2 years in jail. The penalty for resisting arrest is up to 2 1/2 years in jail and/or a fine of up to $500.00

Of course the facts and circumstances surrounding the incident, as well as the offender's criminal/lack of criminal history will play a big part in considering the penalty.

Feel free to call for a consultation.
