Legal Question in Criminal Law in Massachusetts
Probation violation
My boyfriend was arrested last march in Providence, RI for drug possesion and intent to distribute. He has been arrested before for other small things. But this time he was given a suspended sentence of 30 yrs with 5 yrs of probation. In January of this year he was involved in a hit and run in Mass. My question is does this count as a parole violation? And if it does what does the outcome look like?
1 Answer from Attorneys
: Probation violation
If involvement means that he was arrested or summonsed into court, and he is on probation in RI, his probation officer is going to violate him, and may stay the violation hearing until the disposition of the present mass action.
For his sake, I hope that he has a good criminal defense attorney.
You should talk to no one, and certainly not post a detailed description on the internet.
The next person you should and must speak to is an attorney to analyze the case, and discuss your options.
