Legal Question in Criminal Law in Massachusetts

Probation violation question

I had a domestic violence case, in MA. I went to court and my lawyer had me sign a piece of paper saying that there was enough evidence to go to trial. instead of trial I had to go to d/v intervention classes and also was given one year probation. If I went after the year the charges would be dropped. I didn't go I moved back to Alabama with the permison of my P/O and was to go to classes here, but I didn't have the money to pay, nor did I pay my probation fee.I was sent a letter stating that a failure to appear warrant was issued. I talked to a sherif friend here and he told me not to worry about it. I have also since been stopped by the police and nothing here showed up on the computer. I have renewed my license here, plus obtained a pistol permit since moving back all without any sign of this warrant.I have no plans of ever going back to MA or anywhere close to it. I was never finger printed, never had a photo taken. never arrested or taken to jail. What should I do here?

Re: Probation violation question

Every so often, there is a question that has its answer inside of it - this is one of them. The right thing to do ver the long run is complete the program, and meet the conditions of probation, and then return and fix the problem. Any other answer is what you may want to here, but not nothing more.

You are playing with fire - burn is around the corner.
