Legal Question in Criminal Law in Massachusetts
A question
A friend of mine was pulled over in
MASS on Friday 4/17/09. She was
on the highway and a cop was
standing in the middle of the
highway pointing. She was not sure
what to do so she kept going he
chased her and she stopped. He
threatened to lock her up for 60
days. Anyway, he gave her a criminal
citation for failure to stop and going
80 MPH!! She must appear in court
within 4 days to set a court date.
Now does she need a lawyer is this
anything serious? What does she do
when she goes to appear on Monday?

Re: A question
Failure to stop for a Police Officer is a criminal charge and she should hire an attorney to represent her. In my opinion, any criminal charge is serious since to appears on your record (CORI) for life.
Re: A question
At a minimum, she should consult a criminal defense attorney.
If you would like, have her contact me.
