Legal Question in Criminal Law in Massachusetts
Hello,
I had a question regarding the relatively new practice of purchasing fake IDs online from a foreign website. Tons of college kids do this, but sometimes instead of receiving their IDs, some kids get a notice in their package from customs saying that their goods have been confiscated. This letter also usually says that the local law enforcement will be in touch. I'm wondering what exactly would the charges and penalties be for doing this. The ID producer is based in China, and it is sent to the US via a package. If customs confiscated the package, would this be a serious issue? As in possible jail time?
Thank you

No jail time, but not worth the problem.
