Rape Case

A girl has accused me of rape 4 months after I was with her. I have not been arrested but received a letter in the mail that I need to appear in court in June to be arrigned on rape charges. I don't understand this process and why do I have to wait utnil June to start to fight these false accusations?

Re: Rape Case

1. I agree!

2. What this means is that the police department believes that there is a reasonable basis to believe that a crime was committed and it was done by you;

3. Rape is within the jurisdiction of the Superior Court. Being arraigned in the District Court is the precursor;

4. At arraignment, you will be required to report to the probation department, and be asked questions about yourself, your work, and whether you qualify for a court appointed attorney;

5. You must not discuss any matters related to these allegations with any person, except an attorney;

6. If you can afford an attorney, you should hire an attorney right away, so that the attorney can advise you of your rights and what needs to be done;

7. Time is of the essence!!!

Should you have any questions, email or phone me.
