rape shield laws

i was accused of forced rape under 16, this girl has a record in police files,has a history of being very promiscous and at times violent toward her guardian (grandmother), i was indicted in secret by the grand jury and would like to know my options of discovery towards her past, etc..

First off, I am hopeful that you are being represented by counsel as these can be quite serious charges.

Secondly, that attorney is best suited to know the ins and outs of your case. The Rape shield law normally focuses on what can be introduced at trial. Many things may be discoverable but not allowed in at trial. The Prosecution will try to prevent discovery of these but your attorney will probably try to get them anyway and ask a judge to order them if necessary.

You are focusing on some of the wrong issues, and when you ask these type of questions, it suggests that either your not being represented by an attorney, or you are wondering if your attorney is overlooking something.

Confidence in an attorney is an evolving process. The charge is serious, and you should get some of the questions answered by your lawyer before you go on a fishing expedition.
