Legal Question in Criminal Law in Massachusetts

I was recently pulled over by local police and upon running the car registration was informed the vehilce was going to be towed because the registration was revoked. (the car is not insured or registered in my name, it is my boyfriends car). While waiting for the tow truck, the police searched the vehicle and nothing was removed...Upon picking up the vehicle from inpound, a few days later...I noticed the vehicle must have been further searched due to the chaotic condition it was in...In the very back of the vehicle (SUV), I had 2 plastic bags,,,full of various types of trash. In one of the bags there were 2 or 3 empty prescription bottles for a narcotic I was prescribed for an injury. The bottles were over 6 months old and empty. These are the only items missing from the vehicle. Am I going to be charged with something I am unaware of upon my court appearance for the ticket I was issued for the revoked registration?

If they are drugs that were lawfully prescribed, then you can't be charged with a crime. It is not a crime to posses botttles with drug labels on them. It is a crime to posses illegal drugs. If the bottles were sent to a lab, the lab would have to find some illegal drugs in the bottles for a crime to be charged.
