Legal Question in Criminal Law in Massachusetts

reducing excessive probation

Hi,

On sept 2001 i was found guilty of two misdeam. filing a

false police report and disturbing a school assembly. My

sentence was as follows: 1 year at the billerica house of

correction with 1 year suspended and five years probation.

My attorney ( a pub. def) considers i was smoked.

Is it possible for me to receive a reduction in my 5 years

probation?

Since obviously the judge was having a ''bad day.''

i have never been in trouble before. I possess a Bachelors

and two masters degrees as well as a Ph.D.

Thank you,

steve

Re: reducing excessive probation

Its the quality not the title: If you are a first offender, you probably got a very harsh sentence. Revising the sentence is never easy. Get in touch with a lawyer, get a copy of the tape of the hearing.
