Can I be suided if My son was caught attempting to shoplift from a store, and did not leave the store with any merchandise. chapter 231

Based on the information you've provided, I don't see any basis upon which you can be sued successfully in civil court on this matter. Your son may be subject to criminal charges, however. Although you haven't given me many facts to work with, it's not outside the realm of possibility that you could also face criminal charges, if there is some basis to believe that your son and you were in cahoots together to commit a crime.
