Legal Question in Criminal Law in Massachusetts

stalking

.my son was arrested for violating a

restrainging order .he was given bail where the violation occur.however the plaintiff took out new charges in the district the restrainging order was taken out.he now has two new charges.stalking&treat to commit crime.my son did however leave some nasty messages .on the plaintiff cell.his lawyer says he could be looking at about 1 year in jail.no harm bodily harm was done.and he has no criminal record.since no physical harm was done is his lawyer right or should i be concern and hire someone else.i am very much aware that violating of a RO is 2 1/2 years or 5000 fines.i am in desperate need of some advice.

I am not sure what type of advice you are seeking. Your son seems to have left a trail of misdeeds.

There are several matters that will influence a district attorney and a judge. These depend on your son, his background, cori etc. Without knowing this, and without knowing what type of advice you are seeking, I cannot say anymore.
