Legal Question in Criminal Law in Massachusetts
Statuatory Rape
I was 17 at the time when the sexual ralations that resulted in the conception of my son took place. The father was 20. The relations took place in MA, USA. I am wondering about statuatory rape laws for that state. I have heard that over 16 is consentual, but I have also heard that if you are under 18 and there are 3 or more years difference, that constitutes statuatory rape. Please help me clear this up, or point me in a direction where I can read about what he actual laws are. Thank you.

Re: Statuatory Rape
Rape of a child - statutory rape - applies to children under the age of 16 and is considered non-consentual. Over 16, the circumstances determine whether a rape has taken place or not.
