Legal Question in Criminal Law in Massachusetts

statue of limitation for restitution

I recently found out my cori from 1987 was still open. at which time I had five years of probation and had to pay a restitution of $50 dollars a month, and meet with Mr. Lynch who was my assigned probation officer at this time. I have been living at my same address for 26 years now. I was told that due to renovations, and the fact that my p.o.officer has died since then. I would be put back on probation. My charge was larceny because I was working and received benefits from public assistance. I was told that I would be assigned another p.o. officer. Please help me find a solution or a lawyer who could help me figure this out.

thank You,

V. j.
