Is striking a tree with a motor vehicle (yours) and leaving the scene without reporting it considered to be "Leaving the scene of an accident with property damage"?

Unless you own the tree, it is the crime of leaving the scene of an accident without reporting the accident. A tree is property and has value. When a car strikes a tree, it damages the tree. This accident must be report to the owner of the property or the police before the driver can leave the scene. Failure to do so is a crime.
