testifing against sister

My sister is being charged with filing a false police report for a stolen vechile. Regarding a car that was registered and insured in my name with her as a driver. She had onwership of the car from day one. I was not with her when car was stolen and not with her when filing the report. So why would the DA's office want me to testify against her and do I have to?

1. Unless you know what the police report says, you cannot understand the situation;

2. I hope that your sister is being represented by a criminal defense attorney; if she is, you should first ask this lawyer the question;

3. I can only suspect that the DA is seeking something on the issue of authority to use the car; However, this is a guess.

4. There may be something else that either you do not know or do not understand. There is always the possibility that the DA's reason for your testimony is based on some misconception.

You should talk to no one, and certainly not post a detailed description on the internet.

The next person you should and must speak to is an attorney to analyze the case, and discuss your options.
