I have a person who drive to New York and went to my parents house and remove a new ladder I just purchase from Home Depot and gave to my ex husband. What legal step I can take to get back my ladder?

The answer to your question might be that you can file a claim in small claims court, but you don't provide enough information to answer your question. For example, who drove to NY, and what is their connection to you and/or your parents? What happened when they got to your parents' house in NY? What made them think they were entitled to remove the ladder?
