Legal Question in Criminal Law in Massachusetts

Victim of internet fraud, suspect skipped on bail, I want his bail money.

In July of 2004 I was the victim of internet fraud. I lost 2000$ with nothing in return. While working with the police in my state of California and the Police in Massachusets the suspect was apprehended and let out on bail. I later found out the suspect skipped out and never appeared before the court. There is a warrant out for his arrest, but I'm not optimistic in his recovery. I was curious if there is some way to access the bail money he provided to the state. I'm out 2 grand and I'm sure his bail was much more than that. I've talked briefly with D.A. and was givin' the run around. I would appriciate any advise. Thank you.

The bail goes to the government. I am not aware of any provision for applying forfieted bail to victim losses. Further in California the bail bond or poster of bail has 6 months in which to produce the defendant or obtain a stay of the forfieture.
